Fluffy Blanket

Winter is here even for Angelinos. We had some pretty cold weather last week or two - it's warmer now during the day but my apartment can get kinda chilly in the evenings. And being the temperature wimp that I am, I did this in my sketchbook as a way of complaining.

With a nice new brownish-gray Tombow pen I recently bought. It's nice. <3

A Wizard's Workday

I sketched this during my lunch break at one of my temp jobs. I wasn't taking customer support calls myself, but the people who were were right outside my door, and I could hear all the lovely heated arguments that ensued. I've worked at many different offices in my temp work, but this was the first one that actually felt a bit soul-sucking. I guess it didn't help that I was sick for the majority of my time there.

Quick sketch of a Changewing from How To Train Your Dragon. I think if I were to pick a dragon species that wasn't a Night Fury, I'd go with this one. Chameleon skin, hypnotism, acid spitting.. what's not to like?

Daily Drawing - Phobia

I've had this character floating around in my head for some years now. A mysterious phantom-like creature that can manipulate fear. Doesn't speak, and no one really knows what her motivations are.

I love drawing her. She's so whispy.

Rough Storyboard - Astronaut

I recently took Rad Sechrist's storyboarding class, and though I never got any of the assignments finished because of busyness, I did do a few rough boards that I forgot to upload here at the time. The following board (after the break) was done for the prompt of "There's an astronaut in his spaceship, and some grave peril occurs." I feel like this could be the opening sequence of an episode of a show like Doctor Who, where the Monster of the Week strikes at some unsuspecting victim just before the opening sequence starts.

Yay more superheroes! I guess I just don't get enough of drawing them at work. Or something.

Captain Marvel

During my stay at WB, I've gotten a lot more familiar with the DC universe. I think one of my favorite DC characters now is Captain Marvel. Something very endearing about that sort of childish innocence in a superhero. I especially love him in Young Justice. He's all like, "HEY GAIZ YOU WANT TO HAVE NACHOS AND WE CAN HANG OUT IT'LL BE COOL!"

Freema Agyeman's Autograph from Gallifrey One

:) This past weekend I went to Gallifrey One, the Doctor Who convention in LA, and Freema Agyeman was there (Martha Jones). I wanted to get her autograph on something cute and unique, so I whipped up this drawing in an hour the morning of the last day of the con. I wanted to do this for all of the guests I wanted autographs from, but alas I had no time.

Freema's super nice, and the convention as a whole was awesome. I wore a Leela cosplay, which turned out  quite well despite being finished last-minute. This was my second Gally, but it was just as good as the first and I think I'm going to make this an annual thing for me.

I also need to get my butt down to Comic-Con.

Donna Kitty

I have an adorable new kitten and I named her Donna!

Just a quick something to celebrate. I know I haven't been very good at posting anything since November, but that's because I started working at Warner Bros. Animation in December. (Yay!) I've been having a great time. I'm trying to get myself back in the habit of posting something here every day. Or maybe every other day.
